POSITION OF THE TAKE THE SQUARE - ZUID HOLLAND ASSEMBLY IN RELATION TO THE YES WE CAMP! - TENTENKAMP BEURSPLEIN ON THE 17TH OF SEPTEMBER 2011 IN AMSTERDAM

After the decisive meeting on the 13th of September with the organizers of the Tentenkamp Beursplein, the Take the Square - Zuid Holland Assembly have decided not to participate in the protest camp, even though we fully support the international call of action against the stock markets on the 17th of September.

We believe in the creation of new spaces of discussion in which we all feel represented and free to give our opinion, in the way that is being developed and practiced on the squares all around the world.

The use of ideological and political branding by the organizers of the Tentenkamp Beursplein is in clear conflict with the spirit of this movement.

  1. I don't think this was a good idea but I respect it thus it came from an assembly. We don't have the advantage to be so critical in these minor issues.
If you stick to the purity of your purpose you may find yourself not different than the far-right groups.
We need to find things in common and not differences.
No need to mantion that IS/rood was faul...

  2. This is not a question of purity, this is a question of respect. So finally the IS decided to put their political stand. Finally the press title was: socialist camp in bursplein. Also this international calling come from our network so I understand there are a rules to build it. This situation has onl happened in Amsterdam. Who need to understand? Who are the dogmatics? We don't go to the IS-international network and we decided without they. Why in the opposite situation we need to accept the reapropiation of our space? We are citizens not partis. This is a new way to express and organise ourselves as people.

  3. The situation is dat I.S. want to implement a system that is based on FORCE. This is the opposite of freedom.

To me what we do have in common is the wish for freedom. But real freedom doesn't come from a central system to which you have to obey. Humanity has done that already in a lot of different varieties. The step we should take now is put FREEDOM central. With it comes full responsability for your own life. And yes there will be damage, which is minimised by ON A VOLUNTARY BASIS look after each other.

I do not want an Internationale to RULE the world! FREEDOM means living by your own rules and be responsable for it.

    FREEDOM means working together VOLUNTARILY.
So no democracy, no socialism please. For both have FORCE as central element: you have to obey to the external authority.
